About Us

Our mission is to train students to be intellectually curious - akin to the namesake of our school. Through intensive study of the true, the good, and the beautiful, students develop to their academic and personal potential. Additionally, the school will train the heart of students according to universally accepted and eternal virtues - understanding that the best education is only valuable upon a moral foundation. Thus, our students walk with integrity and character, knowing what it is to be a thoughtful citizen in a democratic-republic and a positive force in their community.

Academics

Classical Education is the most proven form of education that has produced the greatest thinkers and leaders in Western Civilization - from the Greeks to America’s Founding Fathers. In classical education, subjects are taught as part of a whole instead of isolated pieces of information, allowing for deeper connections between subject material. Athletics

Benjamin Franklin High School exists to develop and elevate the minds and character of its students. The driving purposes of the athletic program at BFHS is to practice and perfect virtue, and ennoble the heart on the field of competition - inspiring athletes, competitors, and spectators alike to be strong in mind, body and soul. Our High School Sports participate in the AIA, and our Jr. High Sports participate in the Desert Middle School Athletic League.

Fine Arts

The mission of the Benjamin Franklin Fine Arts Department is to cultivate and develop student’s artistic ability and love of the arts. Creative involvement in the visual and performing arts gives balance to the classical academic curriculum. The fine arts curriculum challenges students to think creatively, encourages cooperation and collaboration, and enables students to learn about and produce art that is truly beautiful.
